About our Church

Welcome to St Oswald's Church, Methley.  There has been a church at the site of St Oswald's since Saxon times and the church was mentioned in the Domesday Book survey of 1086. Of course, over the years it has evolved slightly!

In our pages you will find information about our services including Messy Church, our varied programme of open days, our church hall, and about the history of our wonderful building.  We also have a page where you can access useful information, such as our annual report, our policies, and links to other organisations with which we are associated.  Our Vicar, the Reverend Sarah, will contribute a series of articles over time to this page, which can be viewed via the link at the bottom of this page, or here.

At St Oswald's we believe firmly in the importance of working closely with our local community and church partners, and Methley Churches Together organises several events and services together across the year. We have a great relationship with Methley Methodist Chapel on Main Street and always enjoy our joint services. Here you can see Revd Sarah, Ellen Davis and some of the St Oswald's singing group along with Kev Dobson and Revd James Morley from Methley Methodist rocking out at the joint Christingle Service in 2015:
